When it comes to smartphone ownership, software support is a key consideration. We rely on our phones throughout each day for tasks ranging from a simple puzzle game to our most sensitive and personal information, so it鈥檚 essential that we feel safe and secure while also enjoying the latest and greatest Android features for the entire life of the smartphone.That鈥檚 why we have teamed up with Google to extend software support on Android devices powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9400, Dimensity 8400, and future chipsets in our flagship and premium mobile portfolio. This will provide OEMs and ODMs with the ability to support Android OS and security updates for up to eight years.
All of this is in large part thanks to our collaboration with Google, which utilizes Project Treble to reduce development time by separating core Android system updates from manufacturer-specific modifications. Our development team worked alongside Google to ensure that the Project Treble technology was optimized for MediaTek鈥檚 chipsets. As a result, device makers will now have the opportunity to differentiate their products while still providing users with the latest updates as soon as possible.
